AnnotationIn most examined individuals, the phasmids were located near the end of the tail between the last two pairs of caudal papillae, The phasmid openings were oval pores, ca (0.4-0.7)×(0.6-0.9) μm in diam., and were ca 1.5 times smaller than the amphidial apertures. The phasmid openings were observed at cuticle level (S. carpocapsae and S. feltiae) orslightly raised above it (S. arenarium) and were often covered with exudates and collapsed in S. carpocapsae and S. feltiae, but open in S. arenarium.
