AnnotationIn the article, the unified mathematical description of stability conditions for bluff body limited to the linear variant of a general mathematical model is presented. The linearised double degrees-of-freedom (DDOF) model is used and the properties of the response located on a stability boundary and the tendencies of the response in its neighbourhood are analysed by means of Routh theorem. Among others, the Routh conditions particularly important for the flutter and divergence onset are identified as a special cases of general theory and depicted in the frequency plane delimited by the squared frequencies of two principal aero-elastic modes.
