AnnotationThe article contains a description of the history of the building of the Městské ("Municipal") Theatre in Most, the project realisation and later construction works emerged in the long years between 1967-1985, the period which was characterised by a gradual decline of socialist construction. However, the theatre building that was realised in the newly built mining town may be classified as a remarkable one. The building which is still in service was designed by architect Ivo Klimes with contemporary interior accessories by leading Czech artists such as Rene Roubicek, Stanislav Hanzik or Eva Brodska.
