Pro pojmenování borovice existují v českých nářečích různé výrazy s různým zeměpisným rozšířením. Výzkumem pro Český jazykový atlas bylo zjištěno, že pro území slezských nářečí a jihozápadní cíp Moravy je charakteristické pojmenování sosna a pro ostatní území Moravy pak výrazy se základem bor-. Hranice areálů pomístních jmen s lexémy se základy sosn- a bor- se zcela nekryjí s hranicemi areálů sosna a bor- v nářečích. V další části příspěvku se pak věnujeme různým možnostem výkladu několika zajímavých pomístních jménech z Uherskohradišťska, jež snad mohou souviset s borovým porostem.

In Czech dialects, the pine-tree has various name of various geographical distribution. Previous research for The Czech Linguistic Atlas showed that the area Silesian dialects and the southwestern tail of Moravia are distinguished by th name sosna, while the rest of Moravia has expressions wits the root bor-. The borders of the areas of minor place names containing the lexemes with the roots sosn- and bor- do not fully coincide with the borders of the areas of sosna and bor- in dialects. Further part of the article deals with various possibilities of explaining some intereting minor place names from the region of Uherské Hradiště that can be related to the pine-tree vegetation.
