Description in English Vladimir Vand together with Antonín Svoboda developed a linkage analog computer for the acoustic detection of aircraft position for the use in anti-aircraft artillery. In 1946-1949 he constructed two on-purpose mechanical computers for establishing the structure of molecules from X-ray difraction data, i.e., 10 years before the first Czechoslovak electronic computer SAPO appeared.
