AnnotationStructural properties of silicate glasses are described using the "mere"-concept of so-called non-bridging oxygen and its correlation with various physical and chemical properties of glasses is stressed. Furthermore, magnetic properties of borate glasses containing Mn and Fe cations are discussed, including conditions relevant for an appearance of the speromagnetic state.
