S rozvojem a institucionalizací vzdělanosti slovo postupně nabývá dalších významů: konkrétní osoba, která ohrožuje křesťanský svět; později jednotlivý odpůrce pravé víry, zvl. představitel církevní hierarchie. Poté nabývá tento význam hanlivého zabarvení a váže se stále méně na náboženskou sféru. Současné české slovo Antikrist / antikrist stojí na periferii lexikálního systému: jednak jako náboženský (popř. okultistický) termín, jednak jako expresivní kolokvialismus. Description in English The originally monosemic Old Czech noun Antikrist(us) referred first to the adversary of Christ. With the development and institutionalisation of education, the word gradualyl adopted further meanings: specific person threatening the Christian world; later individual opponent of the truth faith, especially the representative of the church hierarchy. Then this meaning assumed a pejorative connotation and it less tied to the religious sphere. Contemporary Czech word Antikrist / antikrist is on the periphery of the lexical systém: both as a religious (eventually occultistic) term and as an expressive colloquialism.
