It was suggested the change is associated with the transition from the regime dominated by coherent vortical structures into the flow dominated by stochastic turbulence. To validate this hypothesis, frequency spectra were incestigated at various locations in a synthetic jet generated in d = 4mm dia. nozzle at the forcing frequency ff = 30Hz. The results corroborate the idea. In addition, the analysis has lead to several previously not known facts about structure and character of synthetic jets.
