Language eng - English Country DE - Germany Keywords legitimization ; politics of memory ; communist past Subject RIV AB - History CEZ AV0Z80630520 - USD-C (2005-2011) Annotation The article surveys the last two decades of the “politics of history” in the Czech Republic after 1989. It makes a divide between two time periods, the first, when the "politics of coming to terms with the communist past" played an important role as a part of the new democracy legitimization, and the second, when distinct variants of "politics of memory" became tools of political struggle.
