Edice představuje soubor překladů staroirských a středoirských textů o mytických a mystických plavbách; obsahuje především překlad pohanského příběhu Plavba Brana, syna Febalova, který je nejstarším představitelem svého žánru, dále polopohanský text Plavba Máel Dúinova, který byl kdysi přeložen do češtiny Juliem Zeyerem. Také je zde přeložen latinský text Navigatio Sancti Brendani, křesťanská transformace těchto dvou textů a konečně dvě pozdní adaptace žánru založené na motivech předchozích textů.
Description in English
The edition presents a collection of translations of Old and Middle Irish texts about mythical and mystical naval voyages and contains at first place the translation of pagan story Voyage of Bran, son of Febal, the oldest representative of the „genre“, and a semi-pagan text Voyage of Máel Dúin, formerly transformed into Czech by Julius Zeyer. The book includes also the translation of Latin text Navigatio Sancti Brendani, christian transformations of both texts, and at last two later adaptations of the genre based on motifs transformed from forecoming texts.
