Důstojně zastupoval Českou republiku v této organizaci. Účastnil se rozhodování o akcích a jejich podporách ze strany EMS. Mimo jiné zastupoval EMS v jednáních o abstraktovém časopise Zentralblatt für Matematik a databasi MathEduc. Jeho činnost byla prospěšná pro českou a evropskou matematiku i jiné vědní obory. Description in English Prof. Exner worked in 2009-2010 as a member of the Executive Committee and Vice-President of the European Mathematical Society. He dutifully represented the Czech Republic in this organization. He participated in decisions about its actions and supports from the EMS. Among other things, he represented EMS at the negotiations on abstract journal Zentralblatt für Mathematik and MathEduc database. His work has been beneficial for the Czech and European mathematics and other disciplines.
