AnnotationSilencing in HEK293 cell line by RNAi of ATP5E gene encoding the epsilon subunit resulted in inhibition of biogenesis of ATP synthase and accumulation of hydrophobic subunit c of the rotor structure of the enzyme. Results indicate a regulatory role of the smallest subunit of the catalytic F1 part of the enzyme in biosynthesis and assembly of mammalian ATP synthase complex
