All streams and sites were fished by electrofising. The first pass represented 58.2 and 58.7% of the fish abundance as estimated from two and three passes respectively; abundance calculated from two passes was 97.9% of the abundance calculated from three passes. During the first pass, 89.6% of species estimated from two passes were caught, and 75.7% from three passes. The number of species caught in two passes was 91% of the species caught in three passes. The medians of abundance and biomass (ind./100 m2, kg/100 m2, along longitudinal stream gradient ranged between 14–45 ind. and 0.7–1.7 kg in Bohemian streams, and between 26–35 ind. and 1.1–3.2 kg in Moravian streams, respectively.
