Annotation	Italský pobyt Karla Škréty popsal v umělcově biografickém medailonku Joachim von Sandrart. Lze ho vymezit lety 1630, kdy Škréta působil v Benátkách, a počátkem roku 1636, kdy pobýval ve Florencii; umělec navštívil také Bolognu a Řím. Z jeho italského období se však dochovalo jen několik obrazů, mezi nimi benátská Zkouška čistoty vestálky Tuscie. Jedním z nejvýraznějších příkladů itaslkého školení je obraz Narození Panny Marie, který vzniklo brzy po Škrétově příchodu do Prahy, ale vliv italského umění lze nacházet po celou dobu trvání umělcovy kariéry.
Description in English	Italian sojourn of Karel Škréta is known especially from the artists biography written by Joachim von Sandrart. It started most probably in 1630 in Venice at terminated at spring 1636 in Florence; the artist spend time also in Bologna and Rome. In spite of this, only several Škréta's paintings from this period are known, among them venetian composition The Chastity of the Vestal Virgin Tuscia. The lessons from Italian artists could be found in the whole artists oeuvre, one the most striking example is The Birth of Virgin Mary painted soon after his return to Prague.
