AnnotationAnalysis of the H-fibroin and L-fibroin genes in Hepialus californicus revealed number of similarities with homologous genes in Trichoptera and Lepidoptera. Purifying selection has constrained variability of both genes. L-fibroin is a promising molecular marker for the studies on silk evolution.
