AnnotationThe work deals with numerical solution of 2D incompressible flow over backward facing step. The inclination angles of the upper wall of the channel were chosen according to experiment of Driver and Seegmiller (1985). Two numerical methods were considered – the finite volume method and the finite element method. Turbulence is modelled using two-equation turbulence models of k-omega type. The influence of outlet boundary condition is discussed and do-nothing-like condition found suitable also for finite volume method. The both methods were compared with experimental data for laminar and turbulent case. The sensitivity of the computation to these circumstances increases for higher inclination angle (diffuser flow).
