AnnotationThe thermal "memory" of the Earth under its surface permits the reconstruction of a long-term ground surface temperature history. Data comes from temperature profiles measured in fluid-filled deep wells. In recent decades the Functional Space Inversion technique has mostly been used for this purpose in variety of regional, continental and global studies.
