    AnnotationSynchrotron experiments have revealed a structural modulation in thallium selenate, Tl2SeO4, in the temperature range of 298-90 K. The modulation is manifested by the presence of the first order satellites. In difference to majority of beta-K2SO4 compounds where the modulation takes place along the axis a (Pnma setting) the incommensurate modulation in Tl2SeO4 takes place along the b setting emphasizing exceptionality of Tl2SeO4 in this structural family. The modulation vector q=(0.0, 0.397(9), 0.0); the space group Pnma(0b0)000.
