In the laser experiment, the responses of the detector to X-rays and ions were compared with the responses of an ion collector (IC). The signals from the DD proved to be much different to the ones from the IC, which is explained by different mechanisms of producing current in both detectors. Due to its high sensitivity, the DD is useful for the measurement of fast protons. Workplace Institute of Physics Contact Kristina Potocká, potocka@fzu.cz, Tel.: 220 318 579 Year of Publishing 2011
