Description in English The influence of different reference gases on permeability of coal samples was studied on two coal types from the Upper Silesian Coal Basin. Measurement of permeability for helium, nitrogen and carbon dioxide was performed in triaxial state of stress in laboratory conditions. It was proved, that helium and nitrogen behave as inert gases, in contrast to carbon dioxide where strong sorption on coal was observed. This sorption induced decrease of permeability.
