Contrary to classical approaches, the kinetic model scales linearly with the complexity of the system and it is, thus, particularly suitable for complex industrial applications. In the present paper, features and capabilities of the new approach are demonstrated on the example of the heat treatment and thermal ageing of an industrial tool steel. The model predictions are compared to comprehensive experimental data. Model performance, predictive capabilities and limitations are discussed.
