Mnohé vlastnosti a funkce ekotonů lze pomocí geoinformačních technologií modelovat a výsledky použít pro kvalifkované návrhy opatření v krajině. Tento postup uplatnil řešitelský tým grantového projektu Grantové agentury ČR Analýza a modelování dynamiky prostorových vazeb ekotonů v prostředí GIS (GA ČR 205/07/0821), řešeného na Přírodovědecké fakultě Univerzity Palackého v Olomouci společně se specialisty z Ústavu geoniky AV ČR Ostrava, pobočka Brno-Černá Pole. Description in English The book summarises the results of our research and the information collected within the project. Our research took three years, which is rather a short period of time in terms of landscape and hence the aim was not to answer all the questions related to ecotone dynamics and stability, but to lay the groundwork for more specifc research into those signifcant landscape elements identifed. First, particular methods being used in botanical sciences and geoinformatics were applied, then the results were integrated using geostatistics and IT procedures and fnally a new method of research was designed and tested.
