The biography of Petr Vok of Rožmberk (1539-1611) deals with an extraordinary person in the history of Czech nobility who inspired legendary tradition and modern Czech culture (novel, drama, opera, film). Based on an original archive research the monography interpretes important problems of the Czech society of the 16th and early 17th century in the field of culture, politics, ethnicity and religion
