This current density decreases with increasing distance to the probe top, and the rate of decrease is predicted to be a sensitive function of the ion temperature. We consider the possibility of a new kind of probe to use this effect to measure the ion temperature with a relatively high temporal resolution Workplace Institute of Plasma Physics Contact Vladimíra Kebza, kebza@ipp.cas.cz, Tel.: 266 052 975 Year of Publishing 2011
