AnnotationOzone depletion leads to the increased danger to the cornea from UVB rays reaching the eye. Previous studies described that UVB rays lead to morphological as well as metabolical disturbances in the cornea. In this study it was shown that UVB rays change corneal optical properties very early after the irradiation and increase along with the number of irradiations. The light transmission of the cornea is decreased leading to hazy vision.
