Genomic fragments containing the complete coding sequences of porcine ID1, ID2, ID3 and ID4 genes were amplified by PCR and sequenced. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and indels were found in ID2, ID3 and ID4. The four genes were mapped by radiation hybrid mapping and linkage analysis in the Hohenheim three-generation families to SSC17, SSC3, SSC6 and SSC7, respectively.
