AnnotationSlender structures exposed to a strong vertical component of an earthquake excitation are endangered by auto-parametric resonance effect leading to heavy damages or collapses of many towers, masts, chimneys and other structures due to earthquake attack in the epicenter area. Solution method combining analytical and numerical approaches is developed and used. New physical effects in steady and transition response states are indicated and interpreted.
