Description in English The main aim of the chapter is to assess the quality of democracy in the Czech Republic. The functioning of the democracy is evaluated according to the international comparative methodology – Bertelsmann Transformation Index (BTI), which allows to analyse the development of democracy in the CR in terms of comparative and theoretically grounded criteria and in the Central and East European context.
