AnnotationFe-modified zeolites were prepared by four impregnation methods, characterized by diffuse reflectance UV-Vis spectroscopy and voltammetry of microparticles, and tested in oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane (ODH). Less common species identified in the catalysts were Fe(III) oxide nanoclusters inside the zeolite pores and amorphous Fe2O3. Monomeric and dimeric Fe(III) ions were most selective in ODH, Fe(III) oxide nanoclusters overoxidized ethane.
