AnnotationThe collision and attachment of a bubble with immersed horizontal solid surface is studied experimentally. The effect of surface material and of surfactant presence is investigated. Cleaned glass, polypropylene, polyethylene and Teflon are used as the material of solid and α-terpineol is used as the surfactant. The effect of solid material on the collision is minor but the presence of surfactant suppresses bubble rebound from the surface. The bubble attachment to the hydrophobic surface occurs long time after the first collision. The time required for the formation of three-phase contact line depends both on solid material and α-terpineol presence.
