    AnnotationThe results of four years research oriented on implementation of adaptive water management in the Elbe river basin are presented in the article. The outcomes are based on the scientific and socio-economic research carried out during the project duration in the Czech and German parts of the basin. The issues of the needs of the water management adaptivity, climate change impact, scientists and stakeholders interaction in research are discussed.
