    AnnotationOur approach allowed obtaining largely hydroxy- and methoxystilbenes, formed as (E)-isomers only. The hydroxymethoxystilbenes (as e.g. pterostilbene) were prepared using specific OH protection and deprotection. The method is suitable for preparing such compounds in a large amount. Effects of the obtained stilbenoids on immunobiological responses were tested under in vitro conditions.
