AnnotationIt was demonstrated that the combination of nitroxide-mediated radical polymerization and "grafting onto" Williamson etherification reaction can be successfully used for the synthesis of loosely grafted amphiphilic molecular brushes. The amphiphilic behavior of molecular brush PS-MPEG was validated by 1H NMR spectroscopy in solvents selective for the respective hydrophobic and hydrophilic segments.
