    AnnotationChalcogenide bulk glasses Ge20Se80-xTex for x(0,15) and those doped with Ho, Er and Pr have been prepared and characterized by transmission spectroscopy, measurements of dc electrical conductivity and low-temperature photoluminescence. Activation energies deduced from Arrhenius plots reveal a systematic decrease with increasing Te content. This observation is in accord with the dependence of the optical band-gap, deduced from transmission spectra, on the Te content.
