Annotation	Ekologicky příznivý způsob života vyžaduje určitý druh skromnosti. Přitom nejde o nenáročnost libovolně chápanou, která by byla jen jakýmsi druhem lhostejnosti k věcem – jde spíše o cílenou šetrnost, vyžadující vedle etické motivace i určité ekologické znalosti. Kapitola vymezuje etické předpoklady výchovy k (ekologické) skromnosti, která, má-li být účinná, musí být především podložena vlastním příkladem. V této sféře není možnost se spolehnout na rozkazy a příkazy; vnímavost a otevřenost vůči světu bytostných vztahů, a to nejen vůči lidem, ale i vůči sféře přírody, vede přirozeně k šetrnosti vůči všem bytostem a zároveň dává naplnění života, které je s vlastnickým postojem a snahou o ovládání druhých neslučitelné.
Description in English	Environment friendly lifestyle demands a special kind of modesty which cannot be understood as a sort of indifference towards things but rather as targeted thriftiness. Besides the ethical motivation this approach requires also a certain ecological awareness. The chapter presents conditions on which education could be effective. This shoud be founded in one's own example as dictates are not reliable measures in this sphere. Receptibility and openess towards the world lead to the carefulness to all creatures and give impletion of life which are incompatible with the possesive attitude as well as the effort to manipulate the others.
