Annotation	Příspěvek se zabývá dlouholetým vztahem českých liberálně demokratických buržoazních politiků Jindřicha G. Maštálky (1866–1926, poslancem od 1897) a Karla Kramáře (1860–1937, poslanecem od 1891). Srovnává jejich rodinná zázemí, zkoumá vymezení rolí v Národní straně svobodomyslné, ve vídeňské říšské radě, rozdělení aktivit z doby úzké spolupráce. Maštálka respektoval vůdčí stranickou roli, kterou Kramář získal a zastával i s jeho podporou. Patřil do skupiny Kramářových nejbližších spolupracovníků, kteří přibližně poslední desetiletí před první světovou válkou ovládali a směrovali stranu reprezentující české měšťanské kruhy. Při vlastní politické emancipaci za války v době Kramářova uvěznění ztratil jeho důvěru a rozešli se politicky i osobně. Oba muži patřili ke špičkám národní politické reprezentace v Rakousko-Uhersku koncem "dlouhého 19. století".
Description in English	The contribution discusses long-time relations between the Czech liberal democratic politicians Jindřich G. Maštálka (1866-1926, deputy from 1897) and Karel Kramář (1860-1937, deputy from 1891). It compares their family background, investigates their roles in the National Liberal Party, in the Vienna Reichsrat, and the division of their activities in the period of their close cooperation. Maštálka had a great respect for the leading role of Kramář in the party, which he gained and practiced with Maštálka support. He was one of the closest collaborators of Kramář, who in the last decade prior to World War I designated the party as representing the Czech middle class. During the war and at the time of Kramář’s imprisonment, Maštálka lost his confi dence, and they parted personally as well as politically. Both men had been at the top of national political representation in Austria-Hungary during the long 19th century.
