Description in English On the example of Jiří Kroha and Otakar Švec the article observes the transformation of modernist visual art language into the socialist realism. It shows the evocation of modernism in Stalin´s Monument in Prague from Otokar Švec, who qouted Jan Žižka´s Cubist Monument, designed by Jan Kotěra and Jan Štursa in 1913. The author stresses the unsuccessful effort of art historian Vincenc Kramář to smuggle the idea of Cubism in the theory of socialist realism in the 1950ies.
