Cílem článku není "demýtizovat" masarykovský mýtus, ale spíše zařadit tento mýtus do kontextu české historické paměti. Jsou zkoumány základní charakteristiky tohoto mýtu, jeho původ a kontinuita s předchozími mýty. Studie je zakončena přehledem nejvýznamnějších pokusů o "dekonstrukci" či "demýtizaci" tohoto mýtu. Description in English The Masaryk Myth is a typical example of the Czech historical myth. The aim of this article is not to "demystify" the Masaryk Myth, but rather to place it within the framework of the Czech historical memory. The myth´s basic characteristics, origin and continuity with early myths are discussed. The article concludes with an overview of the most significant attempts to "deconstruct" od "demystify" these myths.
