Publikace představuje jeden z prvních českých pokusů o syntetický pohled na poutní kulturu lidových vrstev - včetně vývoje poutnictví a poutních míst - a hmotných artefaktů, které byly s poutěmi spojeny (poutní suvenýry a upomínky, znázornění zázračných obrazů a soch apod.). Description in English The representative monograph with rich picture supplement (430 photographs) is dedicated to the popular belief and popular religious art. It represents one of the first efforts in the Czech language to synthetize the problem of pilgrimage culture of popular layers of society – including the history of pilgrimages and pilgrimage places – as well as the material artifacts that were connected with pilgrimages (souvenirs and remembrances, depictions of miraculous paintings and statues etc.).
