Morzin má v dějinách hudby místo především díky svým kontaktům s italským skladatelem Antoniem Vivaldim, jako dedikant sbírky Il cimento dell'armonia e dell'inventione op. 8 obsahující známé Le quattro stagioni. V různých izolovaných kontextech se dochovaly zprávy o hudebnících hraběte Morzina i jejich hudba. Cílem práce bylo propojit tyto kontexty, zdokumentovat složení a vývoj kapely a přinést materiál pro budoucí syntetické zpracování tématu šlechtických kapel v českých zemích. Kapelu sleduje ve třech rovinách: první pohled je veden na hudební zájmy majitele kapely, složení a organizaci kapely a její místo v kontextu šlechtického dvora; druhý představují biografie vybraných hudebníků reprezentujících modelové kariéry hudebníka ve šlechtických službách; třetí rovinu představuje dochovaná hudba členů kapely a otázky vznášené prostřednictvím analytických sond směřují k vzájemným vztahům mezi příjemcem díla a skladatelem, složením kapely a podobou skladeb, a ke sledování recepce kompozičních vzorů. Description in English In the history of music, Count Wenzel Morzin is known owing to his contact with the Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, mostly as the dedicatee of Il cimento dell'armonia e dell'inventione op. 8 containing the famous Le quattro stagioni. In various, isolated contexts we find mentions of other musicians as well as the music of composers related to Morzin and his orchestra. The aim of this work was to interconnect these mutually unrelated sources and document the constitution and development of the orchestra by means of archive research based primarily on sources of accounting and registration nature. The work looks at the Morzin Kapelle at three levels. The first view is from above – attention is paid to musical preferences of the owner of the orchestra, its personal constitution and organisation, and its position within the aristocratic court. The second view is from beneath – via biographies of selected musicians who were members of the orchestra, which in a way represent three “model careers” of musicians in aristocratic service. The last view is through surviving music works composed by members of the orchestra, the analytic probes focusing on mutual relationships between the recipients of the works and the composer or between the instrumental constitution of the orchestra and the nature of the music, and following also the reception of compositional patterns within the ensemble.
