Considerable amounts of these elements entered the forest ecosystems of the region of interest through the deposition during the immission calamity. Many of them are reported as heavy metals or trace elements with important ecological effects. Significant translocations between the forest ecosystem compartments were documented in the geo-bio-chemical cycles, especially in the forest soils. Another possible input of these elements is represented by the weathering of the parent rock. Dynamics of particular elements in the soil profile can indicate geogenic or anthropogenic origin of them.
