AnnotationBacteria from ecosystems of central Antarctica and Alpine and Andean glacial habitats were isolated and studied by molecular analyses. The reason was to recognize the bacterial diversity in these extreme biotopes and the posibilities of transport and distribution of different types was studied. Air current dispersal is model to explain the presence of microorganisms.
