The typical cluster contains only the morphotypes with simple parietal arrangement of thylakoids. From this cluster was separated particularly the type with larger cells, different ultrastructural patterns and different type of division. The new genus Geminocystis was described which belong to more complicated phylogenetic line of cyanobacteria. According to our results were selected new reference strains of both revised genera.
