Light and scanning electron microscopy examinations of these materials made possible a detailed redescription of R. tigridis, which is characterized by 14 anterior prostomal teeth and by filamented eggs; from the most similar Rhabdochona fortunatowi Dinnik, 1933, it mainly differs in the location of large deirids near the prostom. The name Rhabdochona grandipapillata Rahemo et Kasim, 1979 is considered a junior synonym of R. tigridis.
