AnnotationThe paper deals with measurement of the microstructure parameters of monolithic MoSi2 and MoSi2 based composites with different volume fractions of secondary particles (SiC, Si3N4). Distribution of phases in heterogeneous microstructure has a large effect on the final mechanical properties of the investigated materials. Microstructure of the system is described by means of small angle neutron scattering (SANS). SANS provides a unique possibility of non-destructive characterization of secondary particles and all material’s heterogeneity.
