AnnotationAn analysis of the data obtained shows that, for practically important shapes and magnitudes of web initial curvature, is the impact of initial imperfections on the ultimate strength of steel plate girders small, less than 4%. That is why it is not necessary to abide by the currently used and rather stringent web tolerances, and therefor plated girders can be used without their webs being straightened.
