AnnotationThere is no general protection against failure of pipes, but the probability of failure can be reduced by a proper choice of materials and geometry. That is the reason why the multilayer-pipes became the task to be solved not only from the scientific point of view. In the presented work two and three layer pipes the new type of specimen taken directly from the pipes were suggested and tested. For two-layer pipe the critical value of J was estimated. The J is independent of the crack growth direction in the case when the normal line of the fracture surface is parallel with tangential direction. The difference between J value estimated at 23 and -20°C, respectively laid in scatter range. The influence of protective layer is insignificant if the crack length is up to the half of the thickness of the pipe.
