AnnotationThe first part of the paper deals with the determination of main parametrs which are necessary for modelling of a five-phase induction machine with a cage rotor. In case of feeding by unbalanced voltages, the influence of higher space harmonics on properties of a five-phase motor is demonstrated by means of the results of the numerical modelling of a single-phase and a two-phase short circuit in no-load operation. The paper comparesthe results of solutions for machines with an insulated node of the stator winding (when the first and the third spatial waves are applied only) with the results of a simulation in the case when the node of winding in connected with the node of a feeding source.
