AnnotationThis paper analyses situation in a five-phase induction machine by means of the method of space vectors. The analysis shows the necessity to consider higher space harmonic waves of a current layer, magnetic induction and yoke flux. On the basis of derived equations, a numerical model of an induction machine has been set up, which can also be used solving steady-state and transient phenomena both in operating and fault states. Waveforms of currents, torque, and speed during starting of the motor are presented here as examples of usage of the model.
