AnnotationRecent survey projects in Nortern Bohemia have revealed a network of mesolithic rockshelters representing both short and long-term occupations. One long-term site (Pod zubem) and one short-term site (Pod křídlem) were selected for functional analysis of stone tools, including microscopic use-wear and residues analyses, in an effort to better understand the subsistence, economic, and seasonal activities. The results indicate that stone tools were used on a wide variety of materials at the long-term occupation site of Pod zubem, whereas at Pod křídlem, plant processing was the primary activity.
